Mt. Dean Stone - November 13, 2021

11.94 miles, 2415 elevation gain

The hike began at the Sousa trailhead at 9 am. The weather cooperated for the day with cloudy but dry skies. We followed the multi switchback High, Wide and Handsome trail keeping an easy pace as we enjoyed the views into the valley. Once to the upper areas we explored some of the surrounding  landscape and did a portion of the loop around the peak before deciding to return the shorter way that we had come up. The last few miles we followed the public access gravel road before finishing the final stretch on the trail.
