XC ski Bobcat Creek

Trip report Badger Creek XC ski.  December 15, 2019

After minimal snow all fall even at high elevations, we finally got a lot of snow just before this outing.  I had planned to ski at Lolo Pass, but we were concerned that the Lolo Pass parking lot would probably be full, so Julie and Dave Kahl recommended Bobcat Creek which is about 4 miles before the pass coming from Missoula.  This was a good choice:  there were good closed-to-motor-vehicles logging roads to ski on with enough snow at the start and lots of snow up higher.  We saw and heard no snowmobiles and broke trail all the way up.   Participants were Julie, Dave, John, Lisa, Jennifer, Tara, and Alden.
